Gerod King

Gerod served 20 years in the U.S. Army Reserve and retired at Ft. Knox, KY in 2007.  He is a Bosnia Armed Conflict veteran, 1997-1998. He served 29 years in the U.S. Justice Department and retired in 2019.  He has 20 years training, facilitating and coaching experience.  He has 14 years management experience and 7 years senior management experience.  He gained valuable experience in general HR, recruitment, diversity & inclusion, compliance, investigations, project management, public relations, training & development and keynote speaking.

Gerod has a highly successful career of leadership development, coaching one-on-one and groups, training, facilitation, teaching, public relations as well as keynote speaking from small groups to large assemblies in the hundreds.  He has been featured and/or interviewed on television, radio, podcasts and print media.

Gerod trained or coached individuals from various industries and fields to include: federal, state & local government, transportation, military, law enforcement, non-profit, private industry, associations and the medical field.

During his aforementioned careers, Gerod observed instances where the lack of training and/or coaching adversely affected job performance and hindered goal obtainment.  Subsequently, after his retirements, he formed “Gerod King and Associates, LLC”, (GKA) a coaching and training company to address those issues.  We help high potential to executive level clients think strategically, set goals and develop pathways to goal achievement.  Through combined experience in training, facilitation and coaching, we help clients change the way they think, lead and live.

Gerod is a member of the International Coach Federation and has the ACC credential.  He is a certified “John Maxwell” coach, trainer and speaker. He is Hogan Assessment certified. He is a certified diversity recruiter.  Gerod was a certified law enforcement instructor, certified Army instructor and certified Army small group facilitator during military and government careers.

Gerod received numerous awards and acknowledgments for superior performance during his military and government careers.  

Gerod received a bachelor’s degree in public administration from North Carolina Central University and a master’s degree in human resources, training & development from Seton Hall University.
